x-amount, that's very good, isn't it?
Universal has just announced the DVD release of Carl Reiner and Steve Martin's The Jerk: 26th Anniversary Edition on 7/26 (SRP $19.98). The film will be available in anamorphic widescreen video, with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Extras will include the Learn How to Play "Tonight You Belong to Me" and The Lost Filmstrips of Father Carlos Las Vegas de Cordova featurettes, the film's theatrical trailer and production notes. Other extras are TBA.
Comments
YES YES YES. The first DVD was total crap and was even missing a few scenes. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS.

This will do for now, but x-amount's DVD holy grail remains a Criterion Raising Arizona. Extras will include a commentary by him.
FYI: July will also bring a nifty trio of currently-OOP Hackman films: Night Moves, Scarecrow, and Twice in a Lifetime.
According to this mostly-dreadful book, Hackman called Wes a "cunt" on the set of Tenenbaums. I bet Kumar laughed.

I'd pay for an x-amount commentary on Raising Arizona. It's actually the only Coen movie I don't own on DVD from their front 9. Saw it at Target for $5, but I'll still holding out for something extra.
